In the midst of all of life’s activity, do you ever feel like you are just skimming the surface? Do you wonder if there is more to this life with Christ? That you have been called to something greater?

Here are a few opportunities for you to go deeper in your faith and find community at New Hope:

Join the New Hope Family as we enter the Lenten Season with a special Adult Study. We will meet every Sunday in Lent (February 26 through April 2) at 9:00 am. There will be a time of fellowship at 8:30 and following worship. Please sign up at the table at the back of the sanctuary or contact the church office at so we can make sure we have the room necessary. Like our Advent Study, there will be 3 classrooms. A big “Thank you” to our teachers Bob, Martha, and David.

**Qualities of Discipleship**  Explore the characteristics of a disciple this Lenten season. Written by Marianne Blickenstaff, this six-session adult study pack explores various discipleship traits including:  perseverance; learning and devotion; the faith to take risks; the ability to work with others; and humility. Each session will challenge adults to ponder the characteristics of those who follow Jesus and to look for ways the qualities can be included and strengthened in their own faith journeys.

Overall Format: Each class session has a particular theme and will focus on familiarizing ourselves with what the Bible is and how to read it. Class will include group discussion and some interactive elements. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend!

What is MOPS?

MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. It is an international organization that recognizes that the years from infancy through kindergarten are a fundamental time in the mother-child relationship and are filled with unique needs for community and support. MOPS groups meet regularly to share the joys and challenges of motherhood. The international website is

MOPS meeting topics can be anything from doing a craft together for fellowship or listening to a speaker talk about relevant parenting topics, and of course there is always brunch.

When does MOPS meet?

New Hope MOPS meets 1 to 2 Fridays per month September through May from 9:30 – 11:30 am.

There is also a Moms Night Out (MNO) gathering and a Playdate scheduled once per month for those who would like to participate. In addition, MOPS offers its members opportunities for service projects.

What will my child do during MOPS?

The childcare program is staffed by paid workers who have completed our background check process.  Teachers take great care of the children in the preschool wing while the mothers meet in the sanctuary.  MOPS Kids activities include a snack for the children, craft or other creative activity (depending on age of the child), stories, songs and of course, playtime with other kids.  MOPS International provides an age appropriate curriculum.

The Journey: An Invitation to Grow Deeper in Your Walk with Christ

The Journey invites you to awaken to God’s good work in and through you. Imagine the significant rewards that could result if you are brave enough to walk through a process that deepens and refreshes your life with Christ with a group of curious, motivated adults.

The Journey is a meaningful walk with others that explores the biggest questions of your faith: Who is God? Who am I? What does God desire to do through me?

The Journey group (usually 6-12 people) meets together weekly, guided by a trained facilitator who encourages accountability, safe relationships, thoughtful reflection, honest conversation, and prayer. During the pandemic, our Journey groups will meet on Zoom.

*The cost of materials is $250.00
